THE CHOIRS OF ST. MARTIN’S

Cherub Choir: The Cherubs rehearse on Tuesday afternoons at 3:15 pm until 3:45 pm in the choir room and generally sing on the second Sunday of the month at the 9:00 am service. The Cherub Choir is designed for children ages 4 through 1st grade. The rehearsal consists of music games, basic pitch and rhythm matching skills and favorite Bible songs.

St. Martin’s Young Singers: The SMYS rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the church and usually sing on the third Sunday of the month at the 9:00 am service. This choir is designed for students in 2nd through 8th grades. SMYS may also sing as a part of community outreach visiting health care facilities and other programs. The SMYS also explore the use of hand-bells and other instruments in worship.

Bells of St. Martin’s: The hand-bell choir is open to those in high school and older. Reading music is not necessary but is helpful. The hand-bell choir rehearses on Tuesdays from 7:00 - 8:00 pm. and participates at Sunday morning services on an alternating schedule.

St. Martin’s Recorder Consort: This ensemble (bass through soprano recorders) rehearse Thursdays at 2:30 pm. The music is intimate in nature and ranges in style from the Renaissance Period through Taizé. The Consort will provide additional service music and occasionally accompany choirs.

Men’s Choir: This ensemble is comprised of tenors and basses high school age and older. The choir sings music varying in styles and will primarily sing at the 11:15 am service on the second Sunday of the month. The choir rehearses on alternating Thursdays from 6:45 to 7:30 pm.

Women’s Choir: This ensemble is comprised of sopranos and altos high school age and older. This choir sings music varying in styles and primarily sings at the 11:15 am service on the 4th Sunday of each month. The choir rehearses on alternating Thursdays from 6:45 to 7:30 p.m.

St. Martin’s Choir: This ensemble is open to everyone in high school and older. The St. Martin’s Choir concentrates on a wide array of music ranging from the great English classics, spirituals, gospels and contemporary music. This choir will sing at both worship services on an alternating basis. The choir rehearses on Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:00 pm.
